Curaçao Sets the Stage for International Sports Week 2024

A beautiful Wilhelmina Plein square became a lively hub of movement, entertainment, and sports during the event “On the Way to Curaçao International Sports Week 2024,” held at Punda Vibes. Organized by the Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou (FDDK) in collaboration with Vellitt, the event offered an interactive and energetic experience, filled with vibrant activities and a spirited atmosphere. Participants engaged in activities that promoted movement and sports, aligning with the initiative to position Curaçao as a part of this international movement. Although unable to attend, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture & Sports, Mr. Sithree van Heydoorn, shared an inspiring message: “This is an important step in developing sports and movement in Curaçao, and we are excited about the progress we are making to ensure that everyone in Curaçao can be part of this journey.”

Mr. Vergilly Winklar, Director of FDDK, also expressed his enthusiasm for the future, stating, “This is just the beginning. We are paving the way for Curaçao International Sports Week 2024, and we want to ensure Curaçao plays a significant role in the future of movement and sports.”

FDDK extended its gratitude to Lab De Med for its active participation, contributing to both the activities and the planning of the event, as well as to DMO for their collaboration in hosting the event at Wilhelmina Plein.

The evening was energized by the beats of DJ Reginald Offerman, DJ RO-1, who kept the crowd moving throughout the event, creating a lively and entertaining atmosphere.

FDDK is eagerly looking forward to the next event in the series, scheduled for October, which will mark the official launch of the countdown to Curaçao International Sports Week in November. Fundashon Desaroyo Deportivo Kòrsou remains committed to promoting movement and sports, encouraging the people of Curaçao to Keep Moving!
